Actually, the wording is:
"Find a club near your home, work or daily route. Plus, access to over 2,000 locations worldwide"
Nothing about the future, or implied future.

They really need to rephrase that while there is access to less than 2,000.

They really need to rephrase that while there is access to less than 2,000. If they did that, they would have to change the tag line more times than they change their BPS staff!

Down to 918, and 2 I know of which are "up for sale" are planning to close if they don't find a buyer. Soon to have an 8 handle.

Although not up to the minute, i've always used entrepreneur's website: www.entrepreneur.com/franchises/snapfitnessinc/328995Looks like they just updated it with 2018's numbers, and it looks like the domestic club count is down 15 units to 899. The last year Snap had less clubs in the US was 2010. Club count globally is down 8 units YOY.

I never saw that Entrepreneur link before. One interesting note is that snap has claimed (multiple times) that they've taken over clubs, turned them around to make them profitable and then sold them. This was to push their narrative that it's all because of disengaged owners. However, what that chart shows is that the number of company owned clubs AND the number of US clubs both dropped. If they sold these clubs then the number of US clubs would have (most likely) risen.
I say most likely because it's always possible that some of the company owned stores may have been non-US based.
Oh, and snap's site now lists this as 920. Up 2 from last note, but still not accurately reflecting what's shown by Entrepreneur.

Actually Snap's site may be accurate. If you add the number of US franchises plus company owned stores (which I'm assuming are all in the US), you have 933. So Snap's number of 920 would represent a decrease of 13 more clubs since Entrepreneur's numbers were published. And I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Snap's number of US stores dropping by 50 or more units per year in the coming years.

So in just over a year almost 10% of the snaps in the US have closed

I have a feeling that it's going to be many more as the redesign comes due for each location. I could be wrong- we'll see.

I wonder if ATF has any pending redesigns. We see their numbers (including in the US) increase. They have pretty much the same platform we do (smaller, 24/7, boutique, premier facilities).
In my case, I have to agree the new design is very nice looking but it's not a good reason to continue with another term. Neither is Myzone. And if I were just someone looking to join a gym, the new look is not something that would sell me on a membership. Plus, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't care to get a Myzone. And I consider myself a typical, maybe average gym goer with gym memberships since my late teens.

Clubs also have to weigh the cost of buying out of their agreements vs putting in new equipment, which may be determined to be a fad in a few years. The additional fees charged by snap are about $1K/month. How long would it take to realize your ROI for that?
