I searched news on Lake Mills, Wi. Where Peter is closing his club. It may already be closed : - their FB page hasn't had 1 Post since March Abd used to post daily. - guess who moved into town -1 block away from Peterssnap ( lol)? A brand new Anytime. - this Anytime owner now owns 30 Anytime's across this region of the country and was awarded with Anytimes highest award recently. And took Peterssnap Down - OR THIS IS THE PLAN: ... merge with anytime fitness Lake Mills closed their doors last Friday. As for their Facebook page, almost all the March posts were more than likely scheduled posts from corporate since the manager retired from the club for personal reasons in early March. The Anytime that moved in definitely did not help the club numbers and is when I started hearing rumors they would close. Before AF, Snap was 1 of 2 gyms in LM. The other is a favorite for bodybuilders and has a small pool. AF owner, Andy, owns the rights to all new AFs in something like a 3 county radius. He basically has a monopoly on it and it doesn't allow any owners that built before he bought that permission from AF to expand. LM makes 3 clubs gone in the area since January.

The DIGITAL ad I'm seeing on this forum is for Planet Fitness.

Well, of course, it is. PF has a massive marketing budget that exceeded LiftBrands earnings last year several times over.

Fatman needs to talk with Petie and get him to run "the plan" and modernize.

I'm worried my club won't last till the end of the year. I have modernized and all my equipment is the newer line in great condition. Have the best membership price in town, but have AF across the st and 4 other gyms within 5 mile radius. With a population of 8500 people or so....
I keep my place spotless, very active in advertising and have great reviews from members.
Yet... the snap plan DOESN'T WORK as we've talked about here.
I might bring our number down to 973 guys. I'm just out of options here

Everyone - call Lake Mills today. While the website indicates they are not taking online enrollments (at least since last month), it still shows staffed hours today from 11am - 7pm. Pretty deceptive, right? And they show up on the list of OPEN locations for Snap Fitness. More deception. Also, but no surprise, Fitpass is not available at Lake Mills.

It's definitely deceptive that the website and Facebook page are still up, without any mention that the location is closed. Snap is probably trying to pretend they will find a sucker, er, I mean, "a franchisee", to re-open it.

Don't worry the #'s will continue to decline. Did a little math based on the numbers from their own website (franchise FAQ link):
Q: How many members does the average club have?
A: Top 20% = 987 members Middle 60% = 548 members Bottom 20% = 305 members
Based on 1,000 us clubs that is an average of 410 MEMBERSHIPS per club (70% of total members...this is Snap's number); not members; we don't get paid by members we get paid by memberships (very shady of corporate to put members on this answer vs. memberships).
Take out the top 20% and the average memberships goes to 340/club. Avg. ring of $40 (which I don't believe it is that high) is $12,648/mth...after 7% reduction for delines.
Tough to pay the rent, electricity and SNAP dues with that. Who would invest in that disaster.

US clubs down to 971

To summarize, we have this information at the start of this discussion:
4/27/17 It's 985 US Clubs
And now we are at 971. So in two months, the US locations are down 14 locations. A loss of 7 per month. If this is a trend that continues, it could be a loss of 84 per year.
In 10 years, will Snap Fitness exist in the US?

I wish they would fold....we would all be better off on our own. Making our own decisions, using the systems that we want, saving major money in exorbitant fees for crappy services. Who the hell wants or uses that homepage on shitware with the graphs??? All it means for me is another click to get to the customer section. Does anyone use the prospect disengager or the member engager?? I mean outside of being able to send emails what the hell good are they? How about giving us something useful like the credit card updater? Wasn't that due to be implemented a few months ago? Well par for the course I guess.

Decided to tally up the total worldwide clubs. I keep hearing over 2,000 clubs worldwide. In actuality it's currently 1436. Was it over 2000 at some point?
