OMG, I just the email from Corp about the pending lock out of all membership who have not signed their electronic agreements by November 7th. Why is this being forced down our throats? How many members will we lose when we wake all those "sleeping dog" accounts who decide to quit. And all those account with no emails will have to physically come in when we are there to sign the tablet (if it's working) OMG

...just got a response from my BPS that eased my concerns a bit...but still a lot of file checking etc: "This will not affect anyone in the past. Only moving forward. You will be able to check everyone that has not electronically signed and they will not receive anything! This will not affect in any way, any client you don’t want it to. The IPad, by this time will be fully functional, working as if they were signing in Fitware with all the options."

Looks like I'll have to install the IPad. Was holding out due to Snap's track record with technology. How is it for those already using it?

Tried using several times- iPad boots up correctly at my home, but for some reason the only thing that comes up on the screen is a blank white screen when at the club. Put it back in the box.

We will no doubt lose some sleeping dog accounts. More money out the window. I am sure corp will send out emails waking more people up asking them to sign if they haven't yet.
Fire up your ipad. It's no big deal. I use the small paper slips I created to gather initial information and enter it myself. Haven't used a full size contract since and won't order anymore.
I have had the white screen before. I called or wrote the support line and they do something on their end to fix that. Not sure what it is.
The only problems I ever experience with the ipad are unable to connect with it meaning time to either reset the wifi or reboot the ipad. One or the other usually takes care of those problems.
I still think we need to clear up old unsigned contracts, but will probably know this today. Why old expired contracts are still seeking signatures I am not sure. Those contracts are over with and do not require signatures. Corp should delete old inactive contract signature requests before we seek out signatures.
Lastly, due to reciprocity, if a member transfers to your club and hurts themselves, you are basically relying on the previous home club to provide you with a sign-off on liability. Do you really want to rely on some other club to send you a properly filled out and signed document to use in your defense? I just don't like the fact that the customer has to sign twice creating 2 documents in their account. If they don't sign that means they have 2 documents to sign sitting in their account. Then you have up to 3x in duplicates sitting their as well that corp slowly sends out to them. Too much paperwork.

As many of us have said over and over again corporate looks at their franchisees as nothing more than managers of corporate clubs. Look at your new franchise agreement. Corporate lays claim to member addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, billing information, your club's phone number, your club's email address. The only thing you get to own are the bills. If it doesn't work out with your location they're not out anything. Their marketing plan? You give away free stuff, or better yet they'll give away your stuff and charge people a shipping and handling fee.
This whole push is nothing more than to grab hold of more data and prevent you from having it in case you ever decide you want to sell your club. What is snap hq's strategy? Do you see them doing anything to improve the member experience? NO!! It's all centered around them trying to make it as difficult for you to get out from under their corrupt organization. Unlike Anytime Fitness they don't want to hear what you think will benefit members or make for a better brand. Just go sit in the corner, shut up and do as we say. Oh and by the way, there's a new corner sitting fee.
I hope anyone that is even thinking about opening a franchise with these crooked communists finds these posts and enlightens themselves before ruining their life.

swtexan - You have to set up the iPad with your club wifi only. If you initially did it at home you will have to reset it at the club with the club wifi. It's not "portable" I would ask Fitware support for instructions

So on the censored snap forum they basically state that the ipad has all sorts of issues. However, after [the] convention they'll have them all fixed and ready to go. ROTFLMFAO, when have I heard that before and have they ever rolled something out in the past without it have massive problems? From what we've seen in the past, they do little to no testing and let the franchisees struggle with their steaming pile of crap.
Oh, and if you go to [the] convention you can stop by the shitware booth and they'll tell you about all their fuck ups and explain that they don't have a clue as to what they're doing, I mean all the things they wish they could do. Here's an idea: Fix a handful of the problems that already exist. Do they really think this is going to get anyone to go to [their] convention?

Wait, fat boy johnny v has announced that if you go to the convention they'll listen to you ideas for improvements. Gimme a break. We've submitted a crap load of suggestions. They all go unimplemented. Some are as simple as using foreground and background colors on the "edit credit card details" so you can read what's there. Eggshell white on Vanilla white isn't a good selection. That's just one easy change. There are hundreds of others. It's hard to believe that they really think anyone believes their lies. I guess they're hoping new franchisees from foreign lands will buy into their crap.

Why am I not surprised: "We are currently experiencing issues with the Unsigned Documents List and the Revoked User List. We apologize for the inconvenience that this outage may be causing you and will update this message once we have resolved the issues. Thank you!"

It's quite simple actually. There are the unsigned document people and then there are the suspended people....with unsigned documents. Not necessarily the same list of members you will eventually lose payment on. Take 2 aspirin and see if the list matches come Monday morning.

There is a slight delay in having them switched to ok status from suspended. Short as it may be. Double check documents in their account and also check the suspended option under the main customers "status" filter. Delay isn't very long.
