A net promoter system so we can actually see what our members want us to improve. The biggest ipmrovement was the Brand Performance team's breakouts. They actually coached us on things we could do that didn't cost us money that will improve our clubs. Larry's fitware audit presentation will save my club some money and make my club some money too! The membership sales breakout on business partnerships was really well done. The personal training breakout was amazing--Mike and Joe really knew their stuff. Mike Vott's discussion on using a document we already have (the roadmap thing) to sell more personal training was great, and Mike presented with crazy passion. The 2 BPS in the engagement breakout Doug and Ryan gave us stuff that we could actually use right away to avoid and save cancellations. Please tell us more about these items. Are there videos/audios on any of them?

Still examples that they don't understand what they're doing and should get out of the software business and hand it over to a company that understands the business
Run an audit - You shouldn't have to run an audit. How often are you going to do it? Once a month? Once a quarter? What it should be doing is running reports you specify every night and showing you the results every time you log in. This is what a dashboard page is meant for, not to show me a bunch of bar charts. There should be recommended reports and ones I can specify the parameters. These things can change on a day to day basis. I'm not bringing up anything revolutionary or new. Other software packages have had this for years. It makes you aware of where you need to focus your attention. I've brought it up here and to corporate on multiple occasions.
The software should also have a trusted relationship with the Vantiv system. Has a chargeback been filed? A check bounced? Let me know ASAP. I shouldn't have to log into another system to find this out. If I want details it should log me in automatically to that system. If Vantiv can't do it find a company who can. It'll also give you an opportunity to find a company who won't rip us off.
If pete wanted to get all those "disengaged" (btw, his speak for owners who question them and offer alternatives) owners out of the system, then they should have never locked those owners into 10 year agreements. This just sounds like more and more of his finger pointing, which is ingrained in snap's corporate culture, and emanates from the top.
As far as a tool so your members know what you want to change? Here's an idea... Ask them. We constantly talk to members about what we're thinking about doing and our 2 year plan. We make changes, and halt some changes, based on their input. We also have memberships at other clubs to see what's working at those clubs and what their members like. There's one machine I can't stand, but it's in our 2 year plan because it's popular at PF, Retro and AF. I think it's a waste of money, but it's one where I simply have to bite the bullet and put one in. Then the difficult part will be to keep my mouth shut when people use it, but burn very few calories or have no impact on their cardio because it's too easy to cheat on the machine and 90% of the people do cheat on it. But back to my point, have discussions with your members or direct your staff to have conversations.
