I really think snap is being run by a bunch of idiots who don't understand anything about anything.
So on shitpass (aka fuckyoufranchiseepass) there's now no program fee or access card fee. The message from corp, posted on their propagandist forum is:
Fit Pass prospects who auto-enroll as a single, month-to-month membership cannot be charged an access card or enrollment fee. By up-selling the membership you are able to add in additional fees, say if you sell them a personal training package or they switch from a single to a joint membership. Thank you, Caitlin
Sales: obviously they don't understand this. If the person doesn't have any interaction with the front desk staff there's never any chance to sell them ANYTHING!! Additionally, what the fuck are you going to up sell them? Take a look at all of the failed business models who decided to make it cheap to get in and sell supplements, training, etc to make up for it. Perhaps you should copy a successful business model.
Math: Clubs typically collect $100 for the first month, program fee and access card and on average (low average) sign up 10 members a month. Now they're collecting $0. That equates to a loss of $12,000 per year. So, how are we combating this? Our single membership just jumped $70 per month to $105/month. Wanna do a monthly membership now? Go ahead
Technology: Don't get me started there. Their team is clueless about anything technology related.
Fitness: This should at least be one area they're competent. Unfortunately they have no idea what they're doing in this area as evidenced by their club 30 or their roll out of my zone and how to implent it in a club environment. I wound up seeing how it's properly done by visiting orange theory and anytime fitness.
The franchise is headed up by someone who's simply corrupt and has no one's interest at heart but his own. Once a swindler always a swindler.
