Every owner should opt in for this fee. We are in business to make money! All big box clubs charge fees the problem is that many owners do not do the responsible thing and use the fees for upgrades and additional equipment. We have another 24/7 facility in our small rural community and we have been crushing them because I spend money on equipment, replace torn pads, re-paint walls, add more mirrors but most of all my staff and I discuss and ask members their opinions and what they want. I ask them for referrals and continually talk to them about how our membership is growing which means more equipment, a bigger space, and it keeps them motivated to stay. If nothing changes, nothing changes. Don't be afraid to charge your members the fees and to do membership rate increases each year. I do not apologize for charging fees, it's part of doing business. One of the main things I also do is I make sure all "members" are taken care of.....by that I mean I bring in a piece of weight equipment, a new piece of cardio, and small group equipment....something all members can see, relate to and are happy to have additional. You would be surprised how just buying new yoga mats, jump ropes, and small equipment goes. Oh and always make a big deal when it gets delivered. I purposely place the boxes right in the entry/walk way to the main gym floor, and I leave it there for a few days, that way they see it and ask about it. Then I ask one of them to help me unbox it, put it together, and where it should go or if we should move equipment. You would be surprised how many members are eager to help and provide input!

Im assuming you didn't get the bill from Snap Corporate on the modernization break down yet. Not a whole lot of money left over for a new shiny treadmill. Most are 25K or more. And Im a club that hasn't even hit 5 years!

Sorry, if you're doing well enough you don't need to stoop to underhanded things like annual fees. If you want to stand above your competition and differentiate yourself then point out the slimy tactics of clubs charging annual fees.
Our plan is to offer an equal or better experience that clubs closer to the larger cities charging $120/month. It's a far better model than the snap model which I consider to be putting lipstick on a pig. Oh, and we'll do it all with no annual fee. Of course we also have another $10/month club opening in a couple weeks, so that may hit us a bit. We'll see. It appears that they're trying to match our level, but at a lower price. It's never easy. Wanna bet they have an annual fee. Guess what goes on all me advertising?
Is your club ripping you off and charging an ANNUAL FEE? Switch to the club with NO ANNUAL FEE!!

My clubs are modernized. Just because I posted as a guest does not mean I am not a legitimate owner.....perhaps I just discovered this page but hey thanks for the welcome invite! I'm curious what are you charging per month for your superior service club? My club is over 7000 sq feet and we offer over 25+ live group classes per week with all certified instructors.

So this is a typical question from a corporate person hopping onto a forum and has been documented in previous posts. It's basically:
Give me details about your club so that I can narrow it down and try to figure out who you are and find a something to nit pick and send you a letter of default. That way, at a minimum you have to pay a lawyer to respond to us. This was documented by a former snap employee in this forum.
All of our instructors and personal trainers are certified. Are there really clubs out there who don't go with certified instructors? That would seem to be a lawsuit in the making. We offer a multitude of classes and lots per week. We aren't cheap.
People (read snap corporate) posts as guests because they don't want to have to keep track of the lies they tell, so they simply come up with a new story and post as a new guest. If they screw up with the same guest name then they claim someone posted as them. Not too hard to figure out.

Sorry, I meant to say that all of my clubs are about 2500sf and we charge $19.95/month hoping to make money by telling people they can pay us and go to the nicer nearby clubs.
Get it?

Snap's tactics and vindictive culture have been well documented. Also confirmed by lawyers and former FAMs which have dealt with them.
Nice try though.

WTF are you even trying to communicate? Bad English, grammatical errors (as well as hostility and name calling) are typical posts from jv, who I believe always posts as a "Guest"

Not that one, it isn't even upgraded to the yellow stripe, let alone all the other "modernizing". Someone get them to run the game plan.

Actually, I just found out about this board 2 weeks ago. My husband and I own three clubs. I do stand behind my statement regarding the club enhancement fee. I didn't know I had to register to post.....Not sure why I'm attacked. Thank you.

Attacked? The only thing I see is that it's been pointed out that those posting as <Guest> are typically "a fraud, a phony, a corporate shill". However, if you want to claim to be a victim, be my guest.
I think the point has been well made that we're well aware that corporate will post on boards anonymously or as <Guest> to avoid contradicting themselves and also try to show false support with multiple guest accounts, or even 1 real account and multiple fake/guest/anonymous accounts.
