Have you started offering this? There are a couple concerns we had with this. The primary one is that it's technology based and snap seems to be lacking in regards to anything dealing with technology. I saw the one post about the club having their system down for more than 45 days and another selling their system for $1,000. I was tempted by the price tag on that, but having to deal with snap's IT group more than we already do isn't something I want to do. They would have to pay me each month for dealing with that group. I'm not sure if they're overworked or incompetent.
The other issue I have is that we're told the system costs something like $8K. When I was looking harder at these systems I called the FOD sales guy under the guise of being a non-snap club. The price I was able to negotiate was $4K and I was also able to negotiate the monthly programming at half the cost of what I'd be charged as a snap club. It annoys me that this group forces a price on zees looking to expand their offering, but is willing to sell this to a competing club (2 miles away in this case) at half the price. Isn't anyone at corporate looking at the competitive landscape?

It's not just Fitness on Demand -- it's everything that corporate tries to gouge their franchisees with. For example, when I inquired about an AED for my club, it was something like $1275.00 delivered if buying from the "Snap Approved Vendor". I called the next day to order the exact same item as one of my other businesses, and it was $1075.00. I confronted the guy selling and asked him what the deal was -- he admitted corporate forces him to give them some $200.00 for each sale so has has to pass that on.

FOD is a good system when its working. It's not the revenue generator corporate claims it to be, and neither is the Club 30 My Zone. We add it into the membership as a way to set us apart from Planet and others. Less than 10% use it.
