So one of my cameras has started to crap out and my system keeps resetting itself when I have the camera plugged in. Contacted Inferior Security and they told me its either the hard drive or motherboard. They want me to pay $249 for a service call and $109/hr for each additional hour. That price is absolutely ridiculous. What are your thoughts? I really don't want to spend that kind of money

Don't pay them that. They would charge you for a new dvr too. You'd be paying for their flight out there for sure. lol Try and isolate the problem. Swap another cable from one channel input into the suspect input (back of your dvr). See if it still happens. If you are sure it is the camera, I would order it online. Look on amazon. Are they the old style bullet cams? They're really cheap to buy online.

Sorry, they said it may be dvr. I was thinking camera for some reason after I finished reading.

Change out the whole cord or just swap places of two? Sorry I'm super unfamiliar with this system lol

Do you have the old PC based system or the newer DVR system? For either lift a ceiling tile where camera is and unplug it (easy to do). then go to a good camera and unplug that and swap them, what happens?

I'd recommend swapping out the whole system. The snap system was outdated when it was installed and they never understood how to use it, let alone diagnose it. The systems today are almost plug n' play. If you're paying for a static IP then today's system will eliminate that requirement. The cameras are also far better.

Yeee...AND EVERY OTHER ZEE...never, and I mean never purchase anything from Peter Taunton and his crew for this type of stuff. ALWAYS go to Ebay, Amazon or absolutely anyone else. The desk they want for modernization is over $3,000 (I mean what do they think we have the same money as an Anytime Fitness club?). I ordered mine for $800 and I guarantee it is better quality.

Broken - is corporate ok with the desk you purchased? If yes - where did you get it? I'd sure prefer to spend $800 not $3K IF I don't close instead of modernizing.
