Snap is trying to take us to arbitration regarding the early termination of our lease. We are filing a counter suit and I am wondering if anyone out there would be interested in joining us or being a witness at our arbitration proceeding? Snap enticed several franchisees to buy into their franchise by making several false claims regarding ease of operation, low staffed hours, keeping a full-time job while running a Snap Franchise, owning a gym that practically runs itself, 5 year franchise renewal options, false projected returns and more. I need your help in fighting them against this. They need to be accountable for their false and misleading information. Please respond to this message if you would like to participate in the counter suit or be a witness as to their tactics. Thanks!

I'd suggest disclosing the location of your club, since snap obviously knows who you are. As it's been mentioned on this board before snap is quite vindictive and I could easily see this as one of pete's attempts to gather his enemies list. (Basically anyone who has suggested a better way to do something, or brought up the ridiculous fees tacked on). If owners are sure it's not a petie phishing scheme I'm sure you'll be able to find a few who will speak up about the con game snap is running.
Without that it's Step 1: Volunteer to provide testimony Step 2: Receive notice from snap that you're in default of your franchise agreement because of stupid reason (we found your club wasn't clean) they've managed to trump up.

Swindlers Nabbing Another Pocket(book)
Note sure if it's worth noting or not, but this is from a guest account and additionally others were from "Amy". This is from "Amy B".
There was also a post somewhere on this forum from someone at snap who used to be a FAM that snap works really hard to identify who the different members of the forum are and then pays a visit to those clubs to find anything wrong with them and sends them a nastygram (notice of default: Your mirror had a smudge on it. You're not meeting snap's expectations) or other actions requiring a lawyer.
It's also worth noting that Peter has told franchisees in the past that he would take them to court even if he knows he's in the wrong, with no intent other to try to bankrupt the franchisee. As he states "He has lawyers on staff, so it doesn't cost him any more money. Christian values my ass!! Though I guess he never qualified the statement as a practicing or honest Christian.
Step 1: Steal money Step 2: Ask for forgivness Step 3: Go back to step 1
See I'm still a Christian. Sorry, but you're life script will do nothing but take you straight to Hell.

Our clubs were located in Wisconsin. We had 2 locations and closed them on 1/31/17. Snap is now pursuing pro-rated future franchise fees through the end of our contract terms. Our landlord forced us out of our leases so Anytime Fitness could take over. We had no funds to move to another location and try to rebuild our membership base especially since another fitness center was moving into both of our locations. It would have been more money lost to Snap. I hate that they try to strong-arm the franchisees when they know that they enticed several of us to join the franchise under false, misleading and blatant lies. I don't want other franchisees to have to deal with what we went through. If you are a long-standing franchisee (we signed back in 2008) or a new franchisee and feel that the information they provided was false and/or misleading, we are strongly considering a counter-suit to fight this. We, however, do not have funds to fight for all franchisees. If others would like to join in on the counter-suit, we can fight this and hopefully prevent others from losing their life savings for a franchise that drains franchisees of their savings and profits. Please help us and fight for YOUR RIGHTS!

I agree that we were all mislead by corporate. I wish I had only opened one location. It's difficult to manage more than one.
If your landlord pushed you out, and you had build out expenses from when you opened (that you of course could not afford to repeat to start in a new place), it seems that your landlord should be on the hook for some/all of your losses should corporate win and get money from you. This is of course unless you defaulted on your rent and they wanted someone to pay the rent (ex Anytime Fit). But if it was that you could not pay rent, it could be due to being spread too thin because of owning multiple locations (more than one - we can't be in two places at once)....we all know that employees, no matter how they are paid and incentivized, do not really care as much as we owners do that the place is clean and that we are following up on all the (very few these days) prospects, and in general keeping members happy and asking for referrals.
This brings up the point that corporate's marketing efforts are inadequate in the past five years. Their strategies are inadequate but still draining the franchisees. Co-Ops are mislead in their marketing activities so it's a waste of more money as we are not getting leads like we used to.
Strategies - I've yet to hear (from those in my market) that MyZone is bringing us more leads or members or retention. And I don't think it's because they want an edge over my locations. Because there is some desire from consistency in the area, with what is offered. Where are the statistics on MyZone (did I miss something on this)? Or should we just sign up for the system and commit to the subscription fees because JV says it's good and it's our only hope? That and wood flooring at the entry way - prospects will be rushing in to join!
