Matrix has a product line which enables you to save floorspace by combining 2 machines into one (eg Hip Abductor/Hip Adductor). We're finding something like this necessary in order to add additional selectorized equipment to work muscle groups in a different way. It'll be just one more way for us to differentiate our club from others. It may also make it possible for us to add another cardio machine onto the floor. I see this type of move as getting the biggest bang for my buck. It's kind of like improving your house. You get a better ROI by upgrading your kitchen than you do by adding a pool. We're being told by Snap that the versa line is for home use, not sufficient for a Snap club and therefore not approved. www.matrixfitness.com/en/strength/versa Snap is okay with the higher end (ultra) and the lower end (aura), but not with the middle tier? If versa is for home use then surely aura is as well. Is anyone using the versa line? If so how did you get around it not being on the "approved" list?

Followed the link. It's in the commercial space. You could put it in your home, but that would be a really nice home gym. Maybe the home owner could sell memberships.
This is a good example that snap is clueless about the fitness industry. Higher end equipment than what I've seen at some snaps around the country.

I never realized Matrix refined their equipment frame design. It used to be tubular, but now looks more like the Cybex design.

That's home use? petie must be thinking of his own home. I don't understand why this wouldn't be approved. It's a step up from the low end they approve. I'm guessing Matrix isn't giving snap the kickback they want and snap's refusing to approve it until they do and then turning around and telling you it's for home use thinking you'll be stupid enough to believe them. Even as clueless as snap is I don't think could really believe this is home use equipment. Maybe they accidentally pulled up a pic of the bowflex.

I have been using the abd/add machine you describe for the same reason for quite awhile. I bought so much gear that nobody noticed it wasn't approved. They did block all the cool bench presses I wanted due to the lack of a safety bar - caused quite an email flurry but I lost. The Versa line is not as "customer proof" as some lines but this machine is mostly used by women who don't abuse it as much as the guys slamming down full weight stacks with their headphones playing death metal at full blast!
