What I'm referring to are cardio rooms (spin bikes, treadmills, stair mills, etc) which are all in one self contained room and they play a movie. I'm starting to see these offered in new clubs opening up. Personally I think it's a stupid idea. It means that you have to be there at the beginning and work out for 2 hours to see the entire movie. Maybe I don't understand the concept because I haven't experienced it first hand. If it's being run to great fanfare then I'll figure out how to implement it, but it seems like a waste of space. Is there something I'm missing. What are you seeing.
Also, how do they get permission to show the movies to an audience?

In my former life outside of Snap I worked as a PT at Golds Gym in Fitchburg, Wi. They had a cardio theater. At first it didn't get much use but after about 3 to 4 months it started getting a lot of use. The big issues are the movie selection you have on hand, you need to have a now showing notice, the variety you have on hand (you will not please everyone) and the cost of the system. You really can't have a cheep Walmart setup. Another big thing to consider is you total number of gym members. At the Fitchburg location they had 3,200 members. There were a lot of members using it all day long So movies have to repeat all the time.
On e last thing is that Golds gym location was sold to a local gym owner who has a great influence in the Madison are now with three large gyms and over 10 small storefront gyms like Snap. The Snap locations have all closed as far as I know

Just roll Jackass: The Movie on a loop and watch your membership grow. Doesn't matter when you walk in on the movie or how long you stay.
