I just want to alert everyone to track the deposits versus fees for these. Because this spring, they changed how they input those that join online at the end of the month. At least this was their excuse for missing the enrollment and card fee for someone who joined online at the end of April. Make sure you are paid the enrollment fees you are owed!
Regarding their $15 finders fee...it's not just this. It's the $20 card fee (and $10 for each additional) that they keep. The card fee alone should be enough that they don't need to charge this finder's fee. It's a convenience to members and they said quite a while ago that it was added because of the "disengaged owners". But it's another stream of cash for corporate and I do feel the $15 fee we pay and the loss of card revenue is excessive. I wish they would have some concern about our financial strength. Since they don't, I expect when the 10 year agreements start to expire, we will see clubs closing left and right...unless something changes for the positive. Right now, it's just a struggle to stay in it, mentally and financially.

greengrass I could not agree more. The online enrollment is also part of the website that we already pay for!!! There is simply no explanation for this "finders fee" other than pure greed.

So I have a question about online enrollments. Not sure if this is still the same or if it has changed since years ago, but let's say someone enrolls on the 5th of the month. Online they would pay for their global access key with some other fee and then our enrollment fee as well. They never used to pay the prorated dues for the month online. Is this still true? I remember telling a member I need to charge the dues for the month once they came in to sign the agreement. They complained that they just spent sixty something dollars (for example) to join and now they have to pay for dues!? Corp always left it up to us to collect the dues I remember that. That's like being double charged. I stopped pursuing that and just waited for the 1st of next month to roll around. Am I dreaming about this or what? It's been a long day today and I am getting a bit dizzy right now...

Corporate will ALWAYS make you the bearer of bad news. They want to throw you under the bus and keep their relationship with the member in pristine condition. This is just the opposite of how it works everywhere else. Upper management always took the bullets and made sure my relationship with the customer was as good as possible. The reason being that I was the one who worked with the client on a day to day basis.
As I've said before, snap hasn't a clue on how to do business. (or, technology, or fitness, or anything else)
