I'm always amazed at people that like to boast about their years in a market. I personally don't care how many years someone has been at their job. If they do a crappy job for 30 years how does that make them an expert? I suppose you could just do the opposite of what they recommend. Bad experience isn't the same as accomplishments. Take Gary Findlay for example. There's a guy who torpedoed an entire successful franchise by gouging franchisees. He likes to talk about his fitness industry experience, but he hasn't a clue on how to make one successful. Using his logic franchisees could double their revenues if they just doubled their membership prices. That's the strategy he brought to Snap. It might work great in the short term, but it's disastrous in the long run. Even when someone is locked into a contract it only works for so long.

Gary Findlay is an idiot and an ass. One goal - soak franchisees, provide nada. (would that be two). Glad he's gone, but too many of his ways have remained.

It's funny...I've talked with so many people who worked with Gary over the years, and I can't recall one who had anything nice to say. It's too bad so many franchisees have had to suffer under his "expertise."
