So this appears to be snap's luxury brand. This should really be where clubs strive to be. However, their $69.95 price tag is nutty. Some points: - Hardwood floors or the look of hardwood. I know companies like signature sports flooring, www.signaturesportsflooring.com/aerobics-room-flooring.php?utm_content=1560475057&utm_term=fitness%20flooring&utm_campaign=Sports+Flooring_Google_V2&utm_source=Bing_Yahoo&utm_medium=CPCoffer these sort of simulated hardwood floors. I can see these for a cardio area, but how do these hold up for free weight areas where members are constantly dropping weights? Or do they simply not use this type of flooring for the free weight area? Can this hold up to slam balls and medicine ball slams? - Showers (I'm still a believer in no showers) - Life Fitness equipment (really? Charging $69.95 and giving members bottom of the barrel equipment?) - Scented towels (this is something we borrowed from Equinox) Wanna improve your member experience? Move closer to this, but don't skimp on quality equipment and get something like their crappy Life Fitness equipment.

tell me more... Scented towels? What does that cost and is that necessary?
Also... Why do you believe no showers? I ask bc Anytime, our biggest competition , has showers and often our members will say, I wish you had a shower here. but its costly

I started working out around 21. In that entire time I've only used the showers twice. The second time I did I got athletes' foot. I preferred to just go home and use my shower at home. Most of our members live in a 3 mile radius, and so for them it's also not really needed. We do have people ask from time to time for showers, but it's not enough of a demand to justify the cost.
You can scent the towels a couple different ways. We pulled our off of the internet. Some people don't like the scented ones, and so they stick with the regular towels. It's not necessary, but it's easy to implement, doesn't cost a lot and adds value to the membership.

Do your members like the towels? I've never seen much point in offering them, to be honest. If they really add value, I'd consider it I suppose.

I agree with Determined1 on the showers. Same thing happened to me with athletes' foot.
I have 2 clubs. One with private showers and the other none. Taking a poll in the club with none, most people favor them. They won't use them trust me. My club with private showers...maybe 3 or 4 men use it and zero women. We never have to clean the women's shower. Plus..trying to take a shower in a stall means more time spent with the water on. It's too confined. Did I mention my water bill isn't worth having them?

We weren't sure about towel service when we started. What we did was buy a couple dozen towels and put them out for members to use. We washed them during the day at the laundromat a couple doors down. It cost us about $10 a day to wash them, which was pricey. We found that the members liked the service and it was something we could add to differentiate us for our competitors. The cost to wash was too high though, so we installed a washer and dryer to bring down that cost. What we found when we fully rolled it out is that we generated far less waste. We were emptying our trash cans about every other day. This changed to once a week. We were also now spending far less on paper towels. (About 1/3 of what we were paying). Those are the pros. Here are some cons - Towels walk (we lose about 12 towels a month) - Towels have to be pulled out of circulation after about 6 months (They just wear out) - You have to have room for a washer and dryer - Members leave towels around the club - Your staff have to spend time washing/drying/folding - When you run out of towels you'll get complaints quickly (members expect them once you offer them)
Also, these towels are different than the scented towels, which are only for after workouts.
