Does anyone give give any incentives or have ideas to increase the use of bank draft instead of credit/debit cards? Most declines seem to come from credit card issues. Thanks!

Discounts. Offer a reduced rate for checking/savings account billing. You may want to raise your price by the same discounted amount. You can specify, "ask us how to receive a discounted monthly rate" alongside the the higher price. If your outrageous website fees provided an even decent website this would be easy. With the crappy service crap, I mean snap, provides it makes it more difficult to get this to stand out.

One of my areas has a good share of people living paycheck to paycheck. The thought of having those $20 penalty fees hit me for a bad draft scares me. If you live in a good area where it's not like that I would be more interested. I wonder if the corp office can give us some percentage stats on drafts versus charges as far as declines go. They won't recommend either way more than the other for it may be used against them in court by a failed club who listened to such advice.

Planet Fitness only allows bank draft (although their dues are less than ours). And a debit card is not bank draft.
I agree with the idea of higher membership dues (ex $5 more per month) for credit card. Unfortunately your website joining rates may end up higher than other Snap locations in your area but add a message that can be immediately seen on your home page indicating you have additional, lower rate options available for sign up in the gym.
You can tell people in that low income area (you can tell everyone) that if for some reason they need to make a credit card payment (when they know they won't have funds for the dues) they can make a credit card payment by (ex) January 25 for Feb 1, you process the payment (you would have to add the invoice), bump the next billing day forward to March 1. You could add a $5 service fee to do this which is better for the member than getting a decline fee from you and their bank.

I do tell people about paying early (even with cash) and I'll advance their billing date and have done that many times over, but at signup with all the noise and all the things I tell them about the club, they do not remember half of what I say I am positive of that. Important things like swiping their key card on entry is a must and I repeat that at least a couple times so it sinks in. If I want them to walk away with anything drilled in their mind it is that.
