Found a good read at the following link: www.singler-law.com/guides/association.html#buyiThis appears to be the direction we need to head to have our ideas, thoughts, concerns etc. really heard by this franchise. To date there has not been one instance when any meaningful change has been implemented based on our feedback. Every year at "Convention" (I really don't know why there is never a THE before that word in their communication) instead of polling/asking for attendees feedback in what is important for them so corporate can prioritize, it is simply this is what we are going to do. Sure peter has 25 yrs or experience in the industry and John V. has a lot....how about the THOUSANDS OF YEARS collectively of your zee's? We are the ones in the trenches running this model. With that said this should not be a we vs. they scenario with our upcoming association but yet provides a more streamlined message from the franchisees as a whole vs. a zee here or a zee there. I guarantee this will provide a win-win scenario vs. the current win-lose.

I've spoken with a couple lawyers at a couple different firms about creating a franchisee association. The retainer is between $5K to $7.5K I've become so frustrated with the incompetence of the software which we're paying for dearly in monthly costs and missed revenue, which fitware simply misses as well as the F U attitude from hq that what I'm contemplating is just laying out the retainer myself. Those who elect to take part can send a check for $100 to the law firm. I figure that's 75 franchisees. If there are more then the price would come down and franchisees could elect to have the difference returned or put into a franchisee fund. I'll provide details as I move down this path. If others have a better idea I'm game. I'd prefer to put the money into new equipment, but this would give me peace of mind, which I haven't really had the entire time I've owned this franchise, except maybe for the first 6 months.

Determined1 AND anyone else that would like to spearhead the creation of the franchise association...please email me at dmorris5454@gmail.com (I am the one that set this forum up with the use of that email). I know there are several participants here that are very interested and I would like to begin to compile those individuals ASAP and then work together to expand and build that list to hundreds of participants. Let's get this party started!

Count me in on a Franchisee Association. Snap's half attempts to fix things has proved to ONLY make the same or other matters worse; they dont know what they are doing and need to give their Franchisee's a WORKING/ FUNCTIONAL and up to date FULL SERVICE system for their $155/mo PREMIUM cost. A known system with proven TECH SUPPORT using the experts in billing and Customer Engagement that Anytime Fitness , LA FITNESS , Planet Fitness, Lifetime Fitness have had and charge their Franchisee's no more or even less than we pay for Snap's time sucking/ poor quality/ poorly supported/ cheap / behind the eight ball IN HOUSE system that benefits NO ONE but corporate.

In regards to a Franchisee Association, would enough franchisees be interested in this to actually pay a fee to begin and keep it operational? There are, what, 1200 or so Snaps open? Could we get 500 of them willing to join if the cost was $1000.00 each? (I use that figure because very good representation costs money. We may be able to get one of the best, if not THE best, franchisee attorney's in the nation to look out for our interests).

Not sure why 500 came out instead of 50.

I have emailed dmorris5454@gmail.com multiple time to see where this was with no response after over 2 weeks -- not sure if he/she is still here. Of course, we don't know whom anyone is here, either . . .

This is the problem whenever I've seen this idea brought up over the years...no one actually wants to take the ball and run with it in order to get this done.
I only own one club, so don't really have a vested interest either way.

Hi Folks...I'm here and no worse for the wear..other than Oct. declines that just came through. With regards to the franchisee association I did attempt to get some momentum both here and through the emails but unfortunately have had a lackluster response. I'm still in but we need to find a way to get a lot more buy in. Thoughts?

I thought about going to the convention, I mean convention and handing out flyers. I'm sure they'd have a fit and try to kick me out, but I could hand them out on the street to anyone dressed in snap paraphernalia. Unfortunately I'm tied up at the club and can't get there.
