Been trying to research what is possible with iPads and a remote configuration/administation facility as I am concerned they could turn on/off the speaker/camera at will on these devices. Does anyone know if that capability exists? It's not that I don't fully trust corporate, but .......

I have asked around and my people in the Sprint business tell me it's very difficult to do if at all possible. Personally, I wouldn't worry about any of that. Honestly, I wouldn't care unless I was selling drugs out of the gym. Electrical tape performs wonders for piece of mind. If you're worried about the corp office, I don't believe they would invest a dime in randomly monitoring a franchisee. Just the consideration of doing something like that would be an enormous expense producing very little return if at all. Happy New Year!

I would think such a thing would be illegal. To monitor and record without notice. Our membership agreements even disclose that we have video recording in the gym. Would love to catch them at something illegal tho.

Having these things shipped to our homes is a PITA! Looks like ours is going back because we are ALWAYS at the gym! I wonder how many are going to be returned because no one can be home to sign for them. STUPID STUPID STUPID!!

UPS will hold it for something like 7 days for you to pick up before being shipped back. They should have put a tag on your door where to go get it.

Our delivery was attempted Friday, oh yea we were at the gym, where it should have been delivered! Now it is lost in the UPS land of nowhere. Noticed they are shipping the desk stand separately, bet they signature require that too. So 2x you need to be home. Snap was also going to give us tracking #'s to help us. Whoops, somehow that slipped thru the cracks.
Has anyone looked at the preview member agreement on the IPad? I noticed there is no space for joint, or family members. No space for add ons like tanning, hydro massage etc. I assume we email a electronic copy of the agreement to the member yet it will be missing joint or family members, add ons, etc. There also is no place to enter payment info, but I was told you take a photo scan of CC and it uploads, well what about checking or savings acct info. Most times members have a piece of paper with that written on, pretty sure a photo scan won't work for that. The iPad is adding work to the process, better to stick with paper.
Over promise and under deliver, that's the Snap way.

I don't understand their refusal to ship it to the club. It's where we have everything shipped that we need.
over promise, non-delivery. All talk, no action.
Testing it out? Why is that important? When they have to deny access to the system for maintenance you know you're dealing with people dabbling in technology without any real understanding of what they're doing or how to do it.

When you log into Fitware we had a screen populate asking us to update the electronic agreement and if we want to opt in on the enhancement fee. I clicked on the agreement section and noted on the right a preview tab, First you select what type of agreement general or state specific. Then I filled out the stuff for our club and clicked on the preview tab to the right. That was it.

iPad showed up. It is an iPad Air 2 32gb memory, a $400 iPad. It is Addressed to Snap fitness at your home address, (really it is). After turning on it is the usual select language, country and log into wifi then this pops up (would love to upload photo but don't know how.
Configuration Configuration allows lift brands to manage this iPad over the air. An Administrator can help you set up email and network accounts, install and configure apps, and manage settings REMOTELY (yes really). An administrator may disable features, Install and remove apps, Monitor and restrict your internet traffic and remotely erase this iPad (yes really). Configuration is provided by: Lift Brands, Snap Fitness US xxxxxx (address)
So spying, yep they can do it and mess with you if they choose. Jailbreak (if possible) if you do not plan to use it at your club.

Trust me you won't want to use that system anyway. At least not for several months until all of the issues are worked out with the help of us zee's. quite honestly outside of saving some ink and paper which is probably our smallest expense in this business, I don't really see much of a benefit.

And don't log into wifi with the pad if you do not intend to use it right away. Thou it appears the MDM software is not fully loaded on the ipad as it comes, they may still be able to activate it or brick it with a wifi connection. Like Snap I am not an IT person.

Anyone else have the previous snap desks with the red granite countertop? I got my ipad stand the other day and when I took it out I noticed it needs to be bolted to the counter. So thats basically useless to me because I am not going to ruin my countertop, nor am I willing to get a new desk. Suggestions?
